At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:

A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson:

  • The teacher will introduce the topic of Philippine Theater Groups and ask the students to brainstorm what they already know about it.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson:

  • The teacher will explain the objectives of the lesson and how they relate to the topic of Philippine Theater Groups.

C. Presenting illustrative examples/instances of the lesson:

  • The teacher will show the students examples of Philippine theater performances that incorporate the different theatrical elements, such as sound, music, gesture, movement, and costume.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1:

  • Group activity

E. Discussing new concepts and new skills #2:

  • The teacher will divide the class into groups and provide each group with a video clip of a stage performance.
  • The groups will watch the video and discuss how the message of the play was delivered to the audience through the use of theatrical elements.
  • The teacher will provide a rubric for the groups to follow in their discussion.

  • The teacher will evaluate the group presentations based on the rubric provided and assess the students' understanding of the different theatrical elements and how they are used to convey meaning.

  • The teacher will assign a homework task for students to create a short skit or scene that incorporates the different theatrical elements to convey a message.
