A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson

  • Ask the students to recall the previous lesson on theatrical elements and how they affect the creation and communication of meaning in a theater play/performance.
  • Introduce the new lesson on Philippine theater groups and their contributions to the development of Philippine theater.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

  • Explain to the class the significance of studying Philippine theater groups and their contributions to the development of Philippine theater.

C. Presenting illustrative examples/instances of the lesson

  • Show to the class video clips or pictures of notable Philippine theater groups, such as Tanghalang Pilipino, PETA, and Dulaang UP.

D. Discussing the new concepts and practicing new skills #1

  • Divide the class into small groups and distribute video clips of stage performances by Philippine theater groups.
  • Instruct each group to determine the mood, idea, or message of the performance based on the musical sounds, songs, dialogs, and dances.
